Lisbon Conference on the Future of Learning

Futurália is the largest exhibition relating to Youth, Qualifications and Employment in Portugal. This is an initiative of the Portuguese Industrial Association and takes place from December 10th to 13th, at the International Fair of Lisbon, Parque das Nações.

Within the framework of the current process of school’s technological modernisation and innovation in Portugal, the purpose of this conference is to address the present and future of the new approaches to learning processes. In partnership with universities, companies and associations and in the scope of the 2008 edition of Futurália, the Ministry of Education hosts the Lisbon Conference on the Future of Learning.

This conference, to be held on December 12th, will gather high governmental representatives and decision makers from the national and international public sector, companies and professionals in the Knowledge Society and some of the most renowned national and international specialists and researchers on ICT and innovation in teaching and learning.

  • New Learning Paradigms, that emphasizes the approach to new paradigms on the field of learning, such as ICT enabled learning environments and communities of practice;
  • Education, Creativity and Innovation, that stresses innovation and creativity as key players in the future the teaching/learning process;
  • Networking Learning Communities, that understands collaboration as a fundamental toll for a new understanding of the relationships between education communities.
