· We expect all members of the community to adopt behaviors that will prevent a future infestation.
· We need to be proactive and identify infestations as early as possible to prevent spread to neighboring units
· We expect all members of our community to step forward and report suspicion of an infestation at the first sign
· We will make sure that any treatment that is initiated is the best choice available at the time.
A. The Managing Board will do annual inspections of the entire complex looking for bed bugs.
B. If residents discover evidence of an infestation between scheduled inspections they must report it to the board. The board will then arrange for inspection of that unit and if it is found to be infested, adjacent units will also be inspected.
C. Costs of inspections will be borne by the Association.
A. If any units are found to be infested, the MB in consultation with the affected unit owner will choose the appropriate treatment and hire a contractor to perform the treatment, based on current best practices. In choosing a method of treatment emphasis will be on effectiveness and safety.
B. The cost paid to the contractor will be paid by the Association as a standard operating expense.
C. Prior to initiating treatment, the unit owner will be asked to sign a liability waiver that will protect the association from damage that may be caused by the contractor performing the treatment.
D. Community approval will be required prior to the use of chemical treatments.
A. The Managing Board will periodically update the community on what current best practices are for Bed Bug prevention, inspection and treatment.
