Anyone in the community can organize an event. The Events Committee offers sponsors support, assistance with publicity, and checks that there are no schedule conflicts.
The committee also supports members wishing to organize special religious holiday events, for example: Christmas caroling, Kwanza, Hanukah, a Passover Seder.
Some events that have become traditional are:
Halloween party and trick or treating
Winter Fridays by the Fire for conversation, singing, games, readings by coho writers
A Joyful Noise - gospel tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
No-talent show
Sing-alongs
Spring egg hunt
Spring bird watching walk
We have also brought in a number of wonderful outside performers, including storytellers, singers, instrumentalists, and poets. There is monthly poetry reading.
For information about events or to organize one, contact anyone on the Events Committee.
