Units and Households
There are 41 units in the Cambridge Cohousing complex:
29 flats ranging in size from studio apartments to 1600 plus square foot four-bedroom units
9 four-bedroom townhouses and 3 three-bedroom townhouses.
As CCH began an effort was made to include as much diversity as possible along with a balance of single people, families with young children and groups of two or more individuals with various types of living arrangements. In addition we included two affordable housing units and one supported independent living unit.
The property is organized into three neighborhoods:
West End:
101 - 107 townhouses
108 & 109, 208 & 209, 308 & 309 stacked flats
Common House:
114, 115 flats and two guest rooms on the first floor
210 - 215, 310 - 315, and 410- 415 flats on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors
East End:
116 - 118 townhouses
119 & 120, 219 & 220, 319 & 320 stacked flats
121 - 122 townhouses
Affordable Housing Units
Two units are owned and managed by the Cambridge Housing Authority. For matters affecting these two units, contact the Cambridge Housing Authority coordinator.
Supported Independent Living Unit
The supported independent living unit (108) is a condo within a condo, owned by individual residents, and managed by Specialized Housing Inc. It houses a group of men and women living with differing needs who are assisted by a live-in staff person in unit 109. Including people with disabilities has been a goal of our cohousing community since the first meetings in 1995 because we recognize how important social connections are for everyone. Specialized Housing Inc. provides staffing and other supports, and the program coordinator works with the residents and the community to optimize relationships, understanding, and participation in the community. For matters affecting this unit, contact Felix and Sara Rust, in unit 109.

All changes to the exterior of your unit must be approved by the Design Review Committee, which strives for a cohesive external appearance for the Condominium. Contact one of the members of the committee to discuss your proposal.
Unit Owner’s Manual
The Cambridge Cohousing Owner’s Manual was distributed to each unit owner and should be transferred to future owners whenever a unit is re-sold. It contains a wealth of information about the operation, care, and maintenance of appliances, fixtures, finishes, heating, cooling and ventilation system:
Section 1: Specifications for appliances, cabinets, counters, fireplaces, finishes (paints), flooring, plumbing fixtures.
Section 2: Heating, ventilation, and cooling system
Section 3: Warranties and care instructions for fixtures and finishes.
Section 4: Installation and use of the Airetrak, ASKO dishwasher, and the HomeRun Multi-Zone Distribution System
