Intercom controlled doors: #3971
A Resident Key opens all exterior door locks and all interior common spaces intended for residents only:
storage rooms/closets
the CCH Office
Common House bike room
East End workshop
Exercise room
Craft room (if locked)
A Helper Key opens all exterior door locks, but no interior common spaces intended for residents only. A Helper is a person who doesn't reside here and who doesn't need access to those private spaces listed above. Helpers would include contractors who provide home health care or cleaning services or other routine building services, whether those services are to Cambridge Cohousing as a whole, or to individuals in their units.
Resident Keys, Helper Keys, and the Door Code are distributed in person by Michael and Bill. We give one Resident key per person (which may include children, at the discretion of their parents), and Helper keys according to individual needs.
Please:
- Don't duplicate keys. Ask for more from the Board Chair or Michael.
- Don't give resident keys to anyone except family members or unit residents.
- If you have questions or concerns, contact Michael or Bill
- If you have any problems with access at any hour, call our answering service number, 781-745-3159, which is posted everywhere
Garage Remote: If you need to replace a your remote or buy a spare, you need one that is compatible with the LiftMaster Passport controller; the Passport PPLV1 visor-mount remote and the Passport PPLK1 keychain remote are known to work. The garage door opener will then need to be programmed to recognize your remote. Newer vehicles may have compatible built-in openers (e.g. Homelink), and the garage door controller can be trained to recognize these built-ins as well. Contact Michael Maciolek for help with your remote.
Garage Door Mechanics: The padlock on the overhead trap door is keyed the same as a (R)esident key. Any resident can assist you in opening this lock.
