Rec Room Guidelines & Expectations
— General —
If you wish exclusive use of the recreation room by you and/or your group, please follow the procedures for reserving common space.
Leave the room inviting and cleaner than you found it.
Rewind tapes and return to the right location on the shelf.
No smoking or illegal use of drugs, including alcohol.
No sexual activity.
When the door is closed, write your name, time, date and, if you are a teen, the designated adult cohouser taking responsibility for the event on the whiteboard on the door and erase it when you leave.
— Teen Users —
For small spontaneous use including up to 2 outside friends between 8am and 10pm, you do not need to reserve the room.
For uses involving 3 to 5 outside friends, or a partner, you must have a designated adult (parent or other cohouser who agrees to assume responsibility). Security person should let adult responsible know they need to do security for this room.
If hosting 6 or more outside friends, or using the room beyond 10pm, please follow the procedures for reserving common space and call the resident of 115 (currently Carol 610 220 5500.)
The host must know everyone present.
Designated cohousers (adults or teens) may arrange for calendar sign-up privileges through the common space scheduler.
People sleeping over are asked to please supply their own bedding.
If guidelines are not observed, trust is deemed broken, or help is needed in enforcing the rules, teens and designated adults will negotiate measures to prevent future problems. This may involve certain users leaving the door open for a set period of time, until trust can be restored.
Thank you for agreeing to follow the guidelines when you use this room.
