The purpose of these rules is to make the gym a safe, welcoming, and fun place for the Cambridge Cohousing community to get exercise.
Hours for open use: Weekdays (6:00 - 10:00 AM) (3:00 - 9:00 pm). Weekends All Day. Shared workout space.
Reservable Hours: Weekdays (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM) Calendar for Reservations. If no one has reserved the space it is open for use.
Wear clean, dry workout shoes. Leave your outdoor shoes in the cubbies.
Close windows and turn off lights when finished exercising.
No food in the gym. Also, please do not bring in beverages that, if spilled, would be hard to clean up.
Guests and children (under 12) must be accompanied.
Wipe down sweaty equipment after use: Please bring your own towels. There are towels in the gym you can use if you forget to bring your own.
Return equipment and weights to their place after use: (See pictures)
Two bars go to the left of the deadlift platform; one should be on the squat rack.
The plates go on the weight tree.
The bands hang on the bar to the left of the cable machine.
The ankle weights go in the crate under the left side of the rack of free weights.
The free weights (5-25) go on the rack to the left of the cable machine.
The free weights (30-75) go to the right of the cable machine, with the heavier weights on the bottom row.
The pads go underneath the rack of free weights
The small hand weights, stretching equipment, medicine balls, and kettle bells go in the bookcase to the right of the cable machine.
The small gauge plates go behind the elliptical.
All gym equipment stays in the gym.
Have fun and be supportive and respectful of others: Working out is for all ages and all bodies. If you need a spot, ask for it. If you are willing to have others work in with you, let them know.
