As a final review for the season lets take a look back the first Power Rankings of the year and see how I did. I have added up all the points from each position in the excel sheet I emailed earlier. So this will provide answers on rankings for each position group.
1. Knipp (2.83) – Besides the quarterbacks, I have all other positions ranked pretty high, especially kicker. That should carry you to the title. If Hackenburg plays and can play well, and Toussaint retains his 2011 form, this team is in good shape. You actually had more total points for the year considering all players than any other team. So I don't think I was too far out of line putting you at first to start the year. You did have the best kicker, Hackenburg was ok, but Toussaint was terrible again.
2. Jake (2.88) – You’re probably thinking how can the guy who drafted OJ Ross be in second. I asked myself the same question. Well I value Gallon and Wynn so much I didn’t care who my 3rd receiver was. But I like the Michigan receivers to have a big year now that they don’t have Denard throwing to them for an entire season. Dead on in this prediction as my receivers were the best in the league (Wynn averaged 14 pts a week, not 7 Schumann). Braxton did what he was supposed to do. However, if he were healthy every game I think I would have had a great shot at first.
3. Luke (2.99) – The king of 2nd place starts the year a position lower. If there is one team I think could wipe the floor with the rest of us, it is Luke’s. My biggest regret last night was not drafting OJ Ross, it was letting Tre Roberson slip to the 8th round. If he starts, he’s Braxton Miller. I also love the running backs. The Roberson and Houston picks did not work out at the beginning of the season like Luke and I both thought and that basically messed up the entire squad. Actually did pretty good to the end the season with as many points as you did. But the running backs disappointed an couldn't really get much out of the quarterbacks.
4. Farber (3.08) – Should put up a great number from the quarterbacks every week. If Tevin Coleman can hold the starting job for more than a quarter this year this team should finish near the top. Well everyone's, except my, preseason favorite pulled out the victory as Tevin Coleman had a great year. All the running backs were better than I thought and the Steve Hull addition turned out to be the call of the year.
5. Heydinger (3.63) – I really hate the two quarterbacks from Northwestern thing. That’s the reason this team is this low. But, if Hyde comes back and can play the running backs should be awesome. Started out with two quarterbacks from the same team and ended with two quarterbacks from the same team and until the last game, this concept failed. The terrible play early coupled with the Hyde suspension put this team to far behind the eight ball.
6. Seth (3.89) – Not a fan of the running backs as Bullough is an unknown playing time at running back may be hard to get for Jordan Hall since he is the least talented running back on the team. Also not big the on receivers. Dantonio has proven though that if he finds a running back he likes, that back gets 30 carries a game, so Bullough could be huge. Not sure how I ranked this team this high to start with the comments I made here. The running backs and receivers lived up to expectations and did nothing. The Martinez injury was an absolute killer and gave this team no chance.
7. Schumann (3.93) – I really hate the quarterbacks here and I think there will be weeks when your receivers don’t show up at all. However, the running backs are very good and Derrick Green might be awesome. Could not have been more wrong about this team. The quarterbacks were terrific and Derrick Green did nothing. The wide receivers were not good however and it seemed like Schumann was always a half point behind the person in front of him every week.
8. Haines (4.49) – A familiar position at least for now. The possibility of not having a starting quarterback should be revealed in the next day or two. Rod Smith could be the x-factor this squad. With running backs in Hall, Dunn, Elliot, Wilson, Ball, and eventually Hyde all supposedly getting carries, OSU running back could be a bad fantasy position this year.*It was just revealed Maxwell is for sure the starter. The Miller injury and Ohio St. blowouts gave the team some life as Guiton got a good chunk of playing time. But besides the defense and Allen Robinson no one really did much and my prediction wasn't too far off.
Quarterbacks How they Finished:
1. Farber 1. Schumann
2. Jake 1. Jake
3. Seth 3. Farber
4. Luke 4. Knipp
5. Heydinger 5. Heydinger
6. Knipp 6. Haines
7. Schumann 7. Luke
8. Haines* 8. Seth
Wasn't too far off here with the exception of Schumann. Ranked Schumann and myself at a tie for first because Schumann got a good start every week where as there were about 5 weeks where I got nothing from my QBs, but when Miller did play he was about guaranteed for 40.
Running Backs
1. Luke Farber
2. Knipp Knipp
3. Schumann Heydinger
4. Heydinger Schumann
5. Farber Luke
6. Jake Seth
7. Haines Jake

Not bad. Way off on Farber and Luke and who I thought would play between Coleman and Houston.

1. Jake Jake
2. Luke Farber
3. Knipp Knipp
4. Farber Luke
5. Schumann Heydinger
6. Heydinger Haines
7. Haines Schumann

Probably my most accurate category which is amazing because I think its the hardest to predict. I thought Robinson would have a done year and I couldn't have been more wrong on that.

2. Knipp Knipp
3. Heydinger Schumann
4. Haines Haines
5. Farber Seth

1. Haines Jake
2. Jake Haines
3. Seth Schumann
4. Schumann Luke
5. Knipp Knipp
