Another year has come and gone. It seems as though the seasons are getting shorter and shorter. Congratulations to our Champion Seth Terlecky! Below are the final Power Rankings for this season (preseason rankings in ()'s). This will also be my last Power Rankings as a new post awaits me as commissioner. It has been a fun 5 years of doing this and I appreciate the mostly positive comments week to week. Signing off, here are my last rankings:
1. Seth (5) - Totally whiffed on this team to start the season, although most of the points came from pick-ups and trades. Excellent job of managing your team this year Seth.
2. Luke (2) - I picked this team at #2 and said it depended on the health/playing time of Bolden and Bullock. Nailed that prognostication. This team is getting very good at finishing the season in 2nd place.
3. Heydinger (7) - I called this team the team of unknowns in the preseason. Well I obviously didn't know. Very good year but could not get any momentum at QB which led to a desperate trade that ended the season.
4. Jake (3) I actually tied for 3rd, so this was a good pick as well. I said I needed Corey Brown to become a stud, well he was very good. However the asshole Michigan running back, and my 2nd round pick playing in only 1 game ended my season early.
5. Knipp (6) - You had so many different players on your team this year I really can't decide what your downfall was, other than none of your players were that great. Also, the beginning of the year for Ball was a huge disappointment.
6. Farber (4) - My prediction of a two-headed monster at QB and RB was one RB shy as Burkhead was hurt all year. Could have been a completely different season if not for that.
7. Schumann (1) - Perhaps my worst prediction ever. I said the season would rest with the production of Roundtree because your QB and RBs were awesome. Maybe the lesson here is don't draft a QB who is playing Alabama the first game. It could ruin them all year.
8. Haines (8) - A no-brainer for good reason. Drafted two RBs who started the season injured. Or someone drafted them.
Blast from the Past:
The Power Rankings really took off in popularity with the first release of the Special Edition rankings where I compared every team to a character from The Office (remember when that show was good?). No, I don't have a copy of that and I don't know that anyone besides Google headquarters do. All I remember is Schumann was Toby. Anyway the point is someone has some big shoes to fill in this position. As I will be a poor man's Luke Keller, someone will be a poor man's Jake Meinerding.
