Finally, another year of Big Ten Fantasy. For the first time I have ranked the teams by a statistical method only I can understand. I believe this will yield a sure fire way of predicting how the league will shape up. Your score that I have come up with is in parentheses and the lower the score the better. I have also ranked every unit again. In all seriousness though, after looking at my rankings I have zero confidence in my statistical method. As if the Power Rankings weren't cool enough, I've added a new feature. A "Blast from the Past" segment. Enjoy.
1. Schumann (32.5) – The best QB and possibly the only team with 3 starting RBs. Season may rest with the production of Roundtree. 2010 Roundtree wins you the league. 2011 Roundtree gets you 2nd or 3rd.
2. Luke (39.5) – Last year's second place team by a wide margin starts the season out as #2 again in the preseason. Luke may be depending on two players not on his team (Bolden and Bullock) to either be hurt or under-perform. If thats the case, look out for #2. (Also docked points for trying to distract everyone with webcam's of his offspring.)
3. Jake (42.8) – Felt like I'd finish 6th after the draft, so not real sure how I ended up here. Can't believe I'm relying on an IU QB, but production from Roberson will make me formidable. I can also repeat this line from last season's preseason rankings: "I really need Corey Brown to become a stud." Glad I'm depending on him again.
4. Farber (47) – Farber will be loving the two headed monster at Nebraska this year. Overall a solid team that will definitely finish in 3rd, 4th, or 5th place. Don't see enough production for the championship though.
5. Seth (57.5) – Shouldn't have a bad week at QB all season. Tevin Coleman is the big question mark here. He may carry the load for Indiana all year or he may not, time will tell.
6. Knipp (60.75) – I'm not loving the QB's or WR's but Ball could single handedly keep him in it. Let's all hope for big things out of Stoneburner this year.
7. Heydinger (61.5) – The team of unknowns. All three RBs could start, or maybe they'll be back-ups. The most accomplished player on this team is the Defense. Really makes it hard to buy this team retaining the trophy.
8. Haines (64.5) – The RBs scare me. Bolden and Hall start the year questionable so I'm not sure there's a starter at that position. Also not sure Prater (although very talented) is healthy. Too much uncertainty leaves you at the bottom of the list.
