Article 3 – Rules and Procedures - Amending current rules requires 6/8 vote.
Section 1 – Waiver Wire
Waiver Priority
The waiver priority shall be decided after the first week of competition. The order will be decided by inverse order of the standings after the first week
Injuries
Rule: Injuries
- An owner must show a season ending injury by providing a link stating that the player is out for the season
- If a link is not provided or it is from a liberal British blog (unreliable), a majority vote of owners is required to approve
Suspensions
Rule: Waiver wire deadline:
Waiver wire selections may commence as soon as the waiver priority is determined for the week. Second team’s selection begins at 12:30 Friday, and picks will proceed every 30 minutes.
· A team can select a player at any time after their waiver time has started up until 1 minute before kickoff of the first game on Saturday. Once a player's teams game commences that player can't be dropped until the following week.
· Teams that select waiver wire pickups will move down in priority the following week. If a team selects a waiver wire pickup after 5:00 pm on waiver wire day, they will lose their waiver wire priority and move to last on the list.
· Example: Waiver priority is: Team A first, Team B starts at 1230, Team C starts at 100, Team D starts at 130, Team E starts at 200. Team A selects at 12:01, Team B does not select, Team C selects at 230, Team D selects at 600. Team E selects at 201. Waiver Wire for the next week would be: B, A, E, C, D.
Rule: Waiver Wire amendments (added 10/20):
- Waiver Wire stays open after any thursday/friday games until 11:59am Sat.-Increase waiver pickups from 1 to as many as a team chooses
- After initial waiver: first come first serve but only 1 player at a time. ie if you send 3 players you get top choice then only get 2nd after other team's first rank
Rule: Grey Area rule:
- All positions for the draft are determined by Phil Steele’s magazine unless a league vote decides otherwise. If Phil Steele shall become defunct than a magazine of a similar quality , agreed upon by a majority vote of the members, shall be the baseline for positions
- However, a QB can be transitioned to WR or RB if a league majority vote determines
- The same rule applies to a WR or RB transitioning to QB
- This rule shall not apply to WR transitioning to RB or TE or any variation between those three positions
- A Kicker can not be switched to a position because an owner drafts a “team” not an individual. If a Kicker (Hayden Epstein for example) began to get carries at RB he could not be switched. He would have to be picked up via the waiver wire.
- The example of this rule is Marquis Grey who was listed as QB for Minnesota. He was the back-up but also was the leading WR. He is allowed to be switched to WR and the team owner is allowed to pick up another QB and drop a WR.
Rule: D/ST change during bye week
- If your defense or special teams is on a bye week you may pick up an available defense or special teams without using your waiver pick for that week
- If two owners have a bye the same week, standings shall be used for who has priority, the lowest in the standings shall have the first pick
- The defense or special teams used during the bye week shall be returned to the free agency pile subject to waiver priority
Payouts:
8 players x $50= $400 total
The winner each week will get $10 -- 13 weeks x $10=$130
1st place in final standings -- $220
2nd place in final standings -- $50
End of year tiebreaker - Total points for season.
The draft shall be held the last Sunday before the season.
The 10th anniversary draft shall be held in Vegas the last Sunday before the season
The draft order is picked at random (reverse order) and beer must be consumed while picking
Trading
If someone deems a trade "shady" the league can vote on the approval of the trade. 5/8 votes is required to overturn trade.
Trading Draft Picks - Illegal.
9/10/14
Rule has been adopted, that stats are final as of 12:00 on the Friday after the games conclusion. Waiver wire is set in stone at this time. Stats may not be retroactively changed after 12:00 on that Friday, unless a unanimous vote by the non affected parties (week specific) is agreed upon. A minimum of 5 Owners must be able to vote, or no vote (or change) is allowed.
***Amendments to rules take 6/8 league vote.
Issues:
- Suspensions? Are they treated like injuries or do you just deal with it (Stoudemire last year, not the OSU situation)
- No IR list (suggest one IR spot to use for anyone who may be hurt) (Looking back, Bones successfully put it off to a vote this offseason, which we conveniently did not have)
