Another low scoring week. I look forward to the race for Phillip Nelson, if there is one this week. Although I am on fire right now, the league remains up for grabs. Everyone plays next week, so it could be a better gauge for how good a team really is. Also, next week is week 9 which means Special Edition of Power Rankings. I am not prepared at this point, expect the worst ones ever.
1. Jake - Three first place finishes in a row has to be a record. Never though anyone would say this but, "I'm riding Matt McGloin to the Final." The bad news: 3 top finishes in a row and still not in first place.
2. Seth - Continues to lead but the Miller injury is very discouraging to all, except Knipp. His health could be the key to rest of this season.
3. Heydinger - Another ok week, but needs to make a move at quarterback. That position is killing what could be a really good team.
4. Schumann - A breakout week for Belton. Look out for this team if some of that production keeps up.
5. Knipp - Needs a quarterback to step up, and really needs OSU D/SP's to really step up.
6. Luke - The receivers are awful, Colter should help. Not sure where that leaves the quarterbacks though.
7. Farber - I don't know what the deal is with Burkhead, but there is no hope without him.
8. Haines - That faint sound you hear is the fat lady just around the corner. This team is already nearing the "mathematically eliminated" category and there is really no reason for any optimism.
Blast from the Past:
According to my records, this is the last email Haines has sent, 12/7/11:
"As a reporter once asked Randy Moss if he wrote a check yet to pay a fine, Randy replied I don't write checks, straight cash homey. I do have a checking account but I don't write checks, because Randy has no need for them at this current point and time. Haha as for the golden retrievers on the post it notes we used to have two of them Goldie and Sophie. Bones and Knipp knew Sophie quite well, they should have some good stories if you ask them. I was hoping it was going to be sent in the Atlanta Braves baseball post it, but I think the golden opportunities worked. I also hope that the post note made the fridge, it would be hard to throw that out for awhile."
