We are starting to get down to it here. Four weeks remaining with four teams in serious contention. One team is now mathematically eliminated. To put things in perspective here's how things shaped up this week last year:
Final standings with Week 9 scores in ()'s.
#1 - (51)
#2 - (52)
#3 - (69)
#4 - (47)
#5 - (50)
#6 - (46)
#7 - (36)
So, things are far from over at this point. And to make matters more exciting, next week is the Power Rankings Special Edition, which is the reason we are in this league anyway.
1. Jake - A statement win this week, but I had a dream last night Dunsmore was out for the year.
2. Heydinger - Two very impressive weeks in a row and would have been a second straight #1 if Northwestern had not been playing Indiana.
3. Luke - Is now down to one running back and relying on inconsistent quarterback play. Needs a bounce back week to get himself back in the game.
4. Knipp - Is this team the new Heydinger? I think he's had 90-95 points every week this season.
5. Schumann - Is this enough love for you in the rankings? Another good week, but when the Browns went 4-0 to end the season 2 years ago, no one was moving them up their power rankings either.
6. Haines - Not much to play for at this point and with Iowa and Penn St finally starting to play a decent schedule I don't see too many points out of Redd and Vandenburg in the coming weeks.
7. Farber - Two awful weeks in a row. A team was in serious contention has become a non-factor.
8. Seth - Mathematically eliminated as previously stated. Has to be the earliest this has happened in history. Put that in the records Schumann.
