Email Guidelines

Guidelines for sending email, in particular for emailing assignments, have been discussed in class. They are summarized here:

    • Emails must have a subject line. Messages without a subject end up in the spam folder. Do not force your reader to open the message in order to see what it is about. This is doubly true if an attachment is included.

    • The subject line must match the content. Do not recycle old subject lines that do not pertain to the current message. Such messages will be misfiled and not read until the subject becomes pertinent.

    • Attach work for only one project at a time. Do not electronically staple documents together when they aren't part of the same project. Email messages can only be filed into one folder at a time and for this class they are organized by project. Your second document cannot be filed correctly.

Assignment submissions not satisfying these guidelines will not be accepted. An email will be returned notifying you of the problem and need to correct it. The email exchange may delay your project past a due date and cause points to be subtracted. Think it over before you click.
