Activity of Sept. 15, 2010

Post date: Sep 15, 2010 8:27:54 PM

Follow the start-up routine outlined yesterday. You should be nearing completion of the Our Favorites Project and then you should return to the newsletter. Remember, two OurFavorites.doc files should be submitted by each company, one from each of the pairs that forms the company. If you aren't operating the computer, you could visiting all the links on the project page, one of which is an example document to mimic. Otherwise, you might be picking your favorite websites (but not surfing), doing quality control on the project, or learning from you coworkers. If both recent projects are complete, you can be working on the company logo, designing a daily logbook form, plotting your company's address and those of related entities on the map, practicing with the Equation Editor, and so on.

Your teacher will first visit everyone as quickly as possible to distribute midterm grades. Eighth graders should have their communication journals handy. They will receive a sticker. Ninth graders will be told their grades verbally and those with a grade C- or less will also receive an academic advisory slip mailed home. If you have questions or concerns about your grade, please make an appointment to discuss it after or outside of class. Be prepared to exhibit all graded work so that we can look for a discrepency.

Afterwards, there will be a short, stand-up meeting about the Our Favorites Project for those who are having difficulty figuring out where or how to start. Not knowing what to do is not an excuse for doing nothing, but a reason to figure out what to do. Word has a help system. You should learn and know how to use it.
