Where can I view my timetable?

Your timetable will tell you when you need to be on campus or when you need to attend an online session. All new and returning students will receive their timetables, at the latest, one week before their course start date.

What if I have a timetable clash?

Unfortunately, if you have a clash with your lectures, you will need to select an alternative optional module as attendance is mandatory.

You will be able to amend your module choices for the spring semester when the Add/ Drop period is live at the start of each semester.

You can find more information via the central student web pages here: https://students.sheffield.ac.uk/module-add-drop

Seminar times however, can be changed if once you have been allocated your seminar groups, it turns out there is a timetable clash. Modules have multiple seminar groups.

You can complete the PHI Seminar Group Change form via the Philosophy Hub here if needs be: https://sites.google.com/sheffield.ac.uk/philosophy/undergraduate/timetables

Record absence

If you cannot attend your timetabled event. Doing nothing will automatically record you as absent.

However, you can record an absence on the iSheffield app. Choosing the absence option does not mean it is authorised. You need to inform your department of the reason for the absence, and if appropriate, provide evidence in line with current processes.

Who is my personal advisor?

Departments vary in the terminology used to describe this person (eg Personal Tutor, Advisor etc.) Personal Advisors will be available to provide advice and support in certain circumstances, or to deal with issues that have been referred to them. Teaching staff hold office hours during term time.

What are Learning Support Plans (LSPs)?

If you have a diagnosed mental or physical condition which impacts your studies, it might be appropriate for you to contact The Disability and Dyslexia Support Service (DDSS) for advice. Having an Learning Support Plan (LSP) in place would ensure that departments would be aware of any health issues and would be able to follow any DDSS suggestions for support and ways to help you.
