I think my record is wrong. How do I get this adjusted / corrected?

I am having monetary / financial issues. Where / who do I ask for information / help / advice?

There are two first-points-of-contact with the University, the first is Student Support in the Student's Union, with more information @ this link: ssid/sos/money

The second is directly with student finance. There is more information @ this link: ssid/finance and if the Union is open and accessible, they can be found on Student's Union Floor 6.

I would like to change programme. How do I go about doing this?

You will find details on the Philosophy Hub @ this link: PHI Hub Module Choice. Alternatively, please download & complete the form found on the hub for your desired programme changes, and then email StudentExperienceteamPHI@ with completed forms.

Where can I find information on modules and their content, so that I know more / I've picked the right one?

There is information on the department's modules on the PHI Hub, such as outlines, who's lecturing, and perhaps some simple timetable information. The information is located here: PHI Hub - module information. There is also further information at each module's Blackboard page - refer to that resource first.

I would like to change my modules / use add/drop please. Where / How do I go about doing this?

Timetables; Where can I locate them for the modules that I'm doing this semester?

Timetables should have been added to: PHI Hub - module information but double-check it with the information on each relevant module's Blackboard page.

How will I be assessed on my modules?

For Philosophy students, there are more details regarding assessment on the Philosophy Hub found here: undergraduate/assessment. Full assessment details can also be found in module booklet on the relevant Blackboard page.

I think I need an extension for my study. What do I do? Would it be right for me?

I don't know how to use 'Blackboard' - Where can I find guides and help?

Regarding the Blackboard app there are guides and information, including how-to videos, on the university site. Find more information here: University of Sheffield: Blackboard.

I could do with more learning material and guidance on study skills and techniques. Is there anywhere I can find more online information with which to do this?

There are several sources directly available from the university; two of which are the 301 Skills Centre and the instructional materials available on the Philosophy Hub.

I am feeling concerned about my work; it's a struggle to do what I have. Is there anything I can do to improve my situation regarding this issue?

There absolutely is, for both concerns about a single/several modules, or for work-in-general. If you feel you're struggling with a single module, or perhaps several, your personal advisor is a good first-step. For UGs, you can find who that advisor is here: PHI Hub - Personal advisor pairings.

I feel ill and unwell; what do I do?

SHORT TERM -
If it is a short absence of less than seven days, please fill out the Student-Self-Certification (SSC) form on the right. Fill it in and email to philosophy@sheffield.ac.uk.


LONGER TERM -
If you feel the absence could be more than a week, or if you're not sure it will be less than seven days, please review the information regarding Extenuating Circumstances, filling out the form included if necessary, and emailing it philosophy.attendance@sheffield.ac.uk and a-m.frisby@sheffield.ac.uk with details.
