The Philosophy Department Seminar 

The Philosophy Department Seminar Series takes place on Friday afternoons through the Autumn and Spring terms (2:30-4:30 pm). These will take place in the following locations:

Autumn - Arts Tower LT8

Spring - The Diamond LT7

Visiting speakers from various institutions present papers to the Department for discussion. Copies of these papers, if sent in advance, are emailed to students about a week in advance.  

All students are very warmly encouraged to attend, and indeed the first question of the discussion period is reserved for a student (and of course there’s plenty more room for postgraduate questions at other points in the discussion period!)  

The seminar, and the occasional drinks afterward, provide a great forum for the department to come together both philosophically and socially.
