Year 9
Year 9 Mathematics introduces students to work on Level 5 of the National Curriculum. The course covers all five strands from the curriculum: Number, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement and Statistics
we assess at the conclusion of each term, covering all topics taught in the previous weeks and challenging students to retain their understanding
grades are reported based on the five strands of the curriculum
Course Focus
We cover the following topics for each of the strands:
Number - integers, number properties, fractions, decimals and percentages
Algebra - patterns, algebraic simplification, solving equations
Geometry - angle properties of parallel lines and polygons, geometric reasoning
Measurement - area, perimeter and volume of standard shapes
Statistics - data handling and univariate investigations
