Year 9

In the Year 9 course, students learn about designing and developing technological outcomes across a variety of contexts. There is a strong focus on the Digital Technologies curriculum components and how digital technologies are used to enhance other areas of Technology.

Technology at Year 9 provides students with the opportunity to work in collaborative teams to design, and develop their own computer app, a unique textiles outcome and a laser cut jewellery outcome. The students also develop transferable skills, such as research, problem solving, technical skills, and computational thinking.

This module builds on previous technological knowledge and prepares students for the Year 10 Technology options.

  • developing design ideas through research, sketching and digital illustration

  • developing hand stitching and sewing skills
