Year 8
The Year 8 programme further introduces students to some key themes that are found in the six strands of the Anglican Schools' Curriculum. These are: The Bible and Jesus; Christian Doctrine and Worship; Church History; World Religions; Ethics, Morals and Values; Personal Faith and Philosophical Issues
The key theme in Year 8 is that of Belief and the programme is based around the following questions:
What do people believe about God?
What do people in specific countries believe?
What do people believe about ethics, morals and values?
What do people believe about Christmas?
Course Focus
the enhancement of journaling as a spiritual practice
investigation of the main religion of a country with its beliefs and practices
consideration of the different ways children around the world think about God and faith
investigation of the Christmas story as found in the gospels
exploration of the different artistic and cultural expressions of the Nativity
