Performing Arts

Year 10 - Semester Option

Year 10 Performing Arts provides an opportunity for students to investigate, problem solve and express themselves with integrity and conviction. Practising using the language, symbols and texts of Performing Arts will expand and refine student's ability to relate with others and communicate effectively.

Course focus

  • enable effective use of dramatic techniques; vocal production, movement, use of space and body in scripted work, improvisations and original devised work.

  • explore a range of performance processes with improvisation, devised work, and scripted texts.

  • choreograph and perform ensemble dances, developing use of timing, technique, focus, expression and ensemble awareness.

  • present work effectively using a selection of dramatic elements, conventions and technologies

  • reflect and critically analyse a variety of performances from the classroom to professional theatre

Course costs: $30 indicative amount, may be subject to change.

Students will have the opportunity to view at least one live performance. This performance is charged on a cost recovery basis.
