Textiles

Year 10 Textiles introduces students to design in a textiles context. This offers students an exciting experience where they can think creatively about their outcome. During the development of their designs, students will gain knowledge of the design thinking process, research skills, sewing techniques, fabric terms and digital presentation techniques.

• prototyping skills using a range of materials

• learning construction techniques

• developing fabric knowledge

This course will be beneficial to students who are thinking of pursuing Textiles or other Technology subjects as NCEA subjects or in the future.
