Year 10 - Semester Option

Year 10 Music builds on Year 9 Music and introduces students to a broad range of musical skills and knowledge. Students will be learning about a variety of performance and composition skills and techniques, with multiple opportunities to apply these throughout the year in both individual and group contexts. Basic recording and music technology skills are taught and used for compositions. Students also study about music in different contexts, music theory, and listening skills.

Year 10 Music is designed to provide students with a broad range of foundational musical skills and knowledge which will prepare them for Year 11 Music and NCEA in future years.

This course is recommended background for Year 11 Music, though the only prerequisite is that you are, or are prepared to be, playing or learning an instrument and/or voice
