"Sharing One Skin": The Okanagan Community
By Jeannette Armstrong
"Jeanette Armstrong shares that mind, spirit, and body are essential to take care of. Community is everything in the upcomings of teachings, an understanding of where you come from. Who you are and how you learn to speak your language.
Being a part of one's community and learning the teachings and traditions are essential to carry on the beliefs and prayers. Being strong with your identity is a key part of representing and serving your community.

“How place names impact the way we see landscape”
by B. Toastie.
Identity is one of the most important things for someone to have. Identity is everything about who you are, where you come from, and what you stand for. In the article “How place names impact the way we see landscape” by B. Toastie. Place names are of key importance to the identity and spirituality that the land has. Understanding the significance of the historical names for places also helps to learn what has happened there. Sacred places have medicine for all people. Having names for places holds power, and to recognize the ancestral land, this comes to me in a positive way. At home, we have names for sacred places to identify and to heal, which includes my subject of mental health.

“And then I went to school,”
By Joe. Suina
Suina shares that it is important to
Remembering who you are and where you come from is significant for your personal understanding of who you are. This story talks about how the foreignism of going to school and learning the westernization of the white man's customs. The difference from doing chores in the adobe house to the lights and walls, also talks about the assimilation of changes in one's beliefs
and culture (Punished if practicing and learning traditional beliefs)
Never forget your teachings from elders/community, for you to keep traditions alive is crucial to the generations not to be lost. Always pray, practice your culture, language, teaching, and ceremonies. All of these customs play roles not only in indigenous life but all around the world. There is nothing wrong with believing and having hope in whatever it is that you have hope or belief in. I feel that any other human is equal, no matter the situation.

This research article is about how mental illness and society should treat mental illnesses as any other medical illnesses, and the promotion of acceptance of the mentally ill. Also presenting the factors of history What I conclude is that mental illness is a major topic that is talked about across the world. Mental stability is important to one's health day by day. And to accept people in today's society is also very important. This article means a lot in gaining a better understanding of how to approach and be aware.

This article states the current concepts of mental health. And talks about a movement that was founded by Clifford Beers, who was an advocate for mental health.
This sparked professionals to raise awareness for people's rights and to ensure better quality of one's mental health. It is such a great thing to be an advocate for the mentally ill and bring awareness to those who are going through problems mentally, learning about the customs, and the structure on how to give tools for others to help is very fascinating to me, by helping another human being is what god wants, we are all equal in every way and to “treat people the way you want to be treated” is one thing that my grandfather Abraham Pino always told me to do. Every person should always have love and support, no matter what.

The article concludes the history of research on stigma and disorders, conveying the general attitude behind Schizophrenia and how people approach
those with mental illnesses, and also provides the reader with more information about being aware of people who have mental disorders I feel as if its best to bring up the matter of treating ones with mental illenesses as equal as any other kind person would, and to have a much more understanding on what to do if you ever come across a person who has those certain type of illnesses and to be aware of having good attitude towards them, becasue God made everyone equal in my opinion.

This research article presents the promotion of mental health help and how mental health is across the whole world in different countries, and how it effects peoples income and regular daily activities. Also, the article talks about how much countries are spending on mental health help.
Some key data about this article is that anxiety and depressive disorders are among the most common among women and men. Suicide is a leading cause of death among young people across all countries and socioeconomic contexts. Anxiety and depression alone cost the global economy an estimated US$ 1 trillion each year. This article is very crucial to understand how much countries are helping people with mental health. I also understand that countries don't spend as much as others. This article lights a fire within me to help loved ones and advocate for those who have complications with mental unhealthiness.

This article pushes forward to seek the knowledge and understand the factors associated with mental health literacy and behaviors, also, this article studies depression and anxiety among adolescents years. To conclude this. Overall, this article connects with me to understand more about what students are facing from a global perspective. Mental health is everywhere, and to know its freaquent throughout the world means it's sort of a main problem to face, but fixing the way a person feels and thinks to be better is much more of a goal, and to save others from going down a bad route. And again, every life is precious.

Explaining current findings in the New Zealand education system, Maori adolescents and those from lower socioeconomic groups are more likely to be affected by mental health. The article mentions a 3-tier approach, in which it explains the focus on promoting well-being for all people in the first approach. The second tier is to respond to issues of young people and to resolve the issues where possible. The third tier responds to a crisis and aims to prevent a situation from worsening, which is vital towards helping these adolescents avoid mental unhealthiness, such as depression, thoughts of suicide, anxiety, and other unhealthy symptoms. Research has found that offering free counseling can be used as an effective method for reducing Mental health symptoms and concerns for both Maori and lower Socioeconomic adolescents. This article also shares overall help to students in school, and provides funding to help kids seek a better path. From my understanding of this article, it is very important for the support groups and counseling towards students to help them and their families grow.

the article provides the reader with what happended with COVID-19 and mental health impairment during that time, and how cases during the pandemic affected peoples mental health and how they see the virus also what the virus has done to those whom have lived in germany at that time and the general society, the article also concludes the studies before and after with evidence showcasing statistics and the numbers of what COVID-19 did to people overall it was a cross sectional study about mental health symptoms and if they increased or not. How I connect with this article is by seeing the symptoms upfront, COVID-19 had a major impact on mental health and unstableness and the featured symptoms that were discussed in this article. The main reason why I looked towards this article was the trauma I went through by losing my grandma and aunt. Along with a lot of other family members, the statistics that the graphs show may not be accurate now, but it was crucial to have an understanding of what the COVID-19 virus did.
