Who is she?

Danika Baca lives in the pueblo of Kahpovi Owingeh as well as Espanola when she visits her mother. She is the daughter of James Baca and Yvonne Baca, only child of James and youngest of Yvonne. She likes to draw, paint, and listen to music in her free time. She likes to hang out with her current high school friends, as well as her boyfriend. Currently, she wishes to attend a cosmetology school to get her licence, in order to do hair as her full time job. She also plans to sell pueblo dresses in the future.

Currently she attends SFIS, has 2 close friends, and is really into ice skating, baseball, and playing golf with her father, James.

WHAT IS BURNOUT

In the article “What Is Academic Burnout?”, we as people need to understand what starts burnout. The symptoms can be as simple as a lack of sleep, and can very easily escalate to something as bad as anxiety and depression. To get away from this, it's best to take breaks and to be social with friends.

As people who are burnt out, the best recovery method is to simply seek help. When we are burnt, it's not best to keep pushing forward, and continue the cycle. The best thing to do in any burnout situation when it comes to academics is to seek help and to take a step back.

Conflict and survival

In the short reading of “Indians of North America: Conflict and survival” by Frank W Porter IIIColonizers had demoter natives. From protectors of land to slaves of men. Much treatment was justified by the church. This left identity and history getting erased. Mythical stories were made up, even when we(native peoples) were dying. They had to decide “ignore or kill.” Much of the genocide happened, leaving thousands of languages across the americas gone in the wind in a sweep of violence.

The exam-oriented education system in china has been drowning its students in stress, work, and in education. All their years in school from primary to graduation is dedicated and dictated by a number. The ranking system dictates and influences further education, as well as many careers. One small mistake in the harsh tests can drop a student many ranks, and can cost them their entire future. Hence, suicide rates skyrocket, depression and anxiety are high in older youth, as well as self harm reports. This also causes more students to fall ranks, and even when study groups attempt to form, cheating occurs, leading to distrust from the scandals.

The article “Attaching Your Heart” by Carnell Chosa, It truly made me reflect on myself.But then it made me think of the people who have made me who i am, and I was able to think or one specific person at the time once my class period finished going over it.

The person I can think of that is a very positive contributor to my own community is Ko’o Merriam. She's a wonderful woman who puts a smile on everyone’s faces. To me, she’s the definition of tradition with a mix of standard American support. She participates and helps the women understand their traditional roles, while also supporting those who want to pursue other dreams.
