COVID Resources

Scenario I

The majority of the resources posted here are from the Rocky View site (specifically the parent Q & A page) or the Provincial Government K to 12 school information site.
If at any time the documents become outdated, I will do my best to change them but let
me know if you notice anything!!

Masks

Masks will be mandatory in all spaces where social distancing is not possible (6ft/2m separation). This includes on busses, walking through halls and getting to a seat in the classroom (if less than 2m/6 ft is not possible for distancing in the classroom, masks must be worn).

There are medical exemptions to mask wearing, please clarify this with Mr.Nannan and/or school administration.

Hygeine and Illness

All staff and students must complete a daily self screening check before coming to school.
This is the standard checklist created by Alberta Health that you have likely seen at any medical office in Alberta.

For those with allergies or already have some of the symptoms on the list due to other known reasons, a baseline of symptoms should be created prior to starting the school year. In addition to noting the baseline symptoms, they SHOULD be tested at least once prior to the school year!

In the case that students or staff notice a change in symptoms, a pre-determined place in the building will be used to hold students for one hour, after which a parent or guardian must take the student home.

Respiratory Etiquette must be followed by all persons in the building:

    • Cover coughs and sneezes (use your elbow, do not take off mask if wearing one ... if need be, change your mask out afterwards)

    • Avoid touching your face

    • Dispose of used tissues promptly

    • Practice hand hygiene

Physical Distancing and Grouping

  • Students and Staff will practice physical distancing when possible.

  • Other hygiene practices will be emphasized in classrooms, buses and during activities when physical distancing may not be possible.

  • You will be informed of you cohort of students at the begining of the school year. This will be created by alphabetical order.

  • Foot traffic flow through entrances and hallways will be marked.

  • Large gatherings like assemblies will be limited if not eliminated all together.

Sharing

  • Students should have their own supplies. An individual student's supplies should not be shared with others.

  • Equipment used by multiple students MUST be cleaned/sanitized between uses.
