Linear Perspective

The subject of these creations is the interiors of different places one being the hallway in the school and the other being a made up space. These were made with the help from different 1 point perspective techniques such as putting the center eye-line point and making all of the lines go to that. However, to make it I first sketched out in graphite, making sure everything was to scale and correctly shaped, then I went over in different sized pens to solidify the lines. Later I added the red color to the lockers and fire alarm pull. I chose this hallway because it seemed like the easiest out of all of them, and it is arranged in the way that I saw it from a sitting position. The elements and principles of design that I used in this are line, color, form, and pattern.

I don't know what the composition rules or techniques are, so if I did use them then they are somewhere in there. For the hallway one, this project evolved because originally I wasn't going to add all of the large bricks that make up the walls, but I decided it looked plain so I did. Also, I added the red colors in the picture to make it more interesting, instead of just a flat black and white.

The meaning behind this artwork is that it was an assignment so I had to do it if I wanted to get a decent grade. This relates to my life because I walk by this hallway every single day when I am in school, so I see it a lot. If I could go back and revise the hallway I would add all of the small bricks that are on the right side wall. If I were to edit the room that I created, I would go over all of the lines with ink; instead of some of them missing.
