COVID-19 Response #2

The idea of this piece is to represent how kids are feeling during this time of the pandemic. This project relates to my life because I decided to write different things that I am feeling during this time to help add more meaning to this piece.

This piece was made by laying an initial layer of watered-down acrylic paint on the paper then using fine tip pens to go over the drawing I had made.

When I laid down the acrylic paint, it was taking a while to dry, so I thought to dab it dry with a towel which would also have the effect of giving the background a more uneven/interesting texture. I chose this violet color because it has a sort of glum mood to it which represents the feelings in this piece well. I then went over the sketch of the boy that I had done with some fine tip pens, and then added the different words around it last. I wanted this to be kind of messing looking as well to help represent the confusion and haphazardness that is felt currently. this project didn't evolve very much because I had sketched it out before and had an idea of what I wanted to do. I think my next steps would be to make more of these drawings with different characters and different emotions.
