If a Visitor Walked Into My Classroom What Would They See?
If a visitor walked into my classroom, I want them to feel the comfort, warmth, and joy from the students and the environment. They would see the student projects based on the guidance of progressivism and undertones of social change that ventures away from the beaten educational path. An open concept built on collaboration and student interaction. A classroom a far cry from rows of desks facing me while I talk into a void.
How I Used AI
This AI generated image was made with COPILOT by Microsoft. Social Reconstructivism and Progressivism are the educational theories I can relate to. These bring together critical thinking and student empowerment. This image generated may seem chaotic to some, but to me it represents a space of comfort and collaboration. The space is representative of a home that fosters personal growth with the guidance of an educator along the way. Both educational philosophies are future focused to help students of today become ready for their tomorrow.

Hi Nikko, I saw that you said you were in the Army before you decided to go to ODU to become a teacher, strange thing is that my mom did the same thing. She was a journalist in the Army and when she got out in '06 she decided to go to ODU for teaching. This is currently her 13th year as a teacher. How cool are the similarities are! I will say I like the inclusive seating in your classroom photo as it is something that while small really supports learning. - Madison Spurlock

I totally agree that creating a collaborative, learning environment will be so beneficial for students. Helping students foster a love for learning is going to be so helpful for their learning journeys. I think your experinces will really help shape your future classroom. -Rebecca Hinson
