Hi Christina! I to would like to become a teacher with progressivism beliefs . I also love that you have learned a lot from dancing that you can apply to your strategies as a teacher. Being a summer camp leader I am sure has been filled with a lot of learning curves for you, I know that I have learned a lot being an before and after school program leader and summer camps was the most flexibility you could have. I can see that you are going to be a determined teachers and create a positive environment for students. -Eli G.
Hey Christina! After reading your page, I found that our motivations for becoming teachers are so similar! After having some teachers who really helped me come into my own and supported me as a human more so than as just a student, I realized how teachers can really have a huge impact on someone's life. Not only do I like helping people learn, but I also just want the opportunity to provide that support for my students; "pass it on," if you will. I also think your experience from many leadership and community endeavors will be super helpful as a teacher! I also think you're right on the money with valuing empathy, kindness, and respect in the classroom. You never know what a student is going through, and it is important that class can be a place where they can be themselves and be involved. - Sadie Jansen
Hi Christina! I agree that teachers are needed now more than ever. With access to so much media there are many outside influences as you mentioned. My ideas also align closely with the progressivist approach to teaching. I love the idea of a student centered classroom and truly believe that this is how students learn best! Our Ai policies are similar! I do not want to take advantage of Ai either because I know that it is not helping me to do so. - Thalia Johnson
I love how in your 'What I Know' section you explained how teachers are needed more than ever and how kids are easily surrounded by influences lately. I thought it was really important to acknowledge that because the influences that we have currently can be a positive and/or negative impact and having the teacher who are there to educate the rights from the wrongs is why we are needed more than ever currently. I absolutely loved your page! - Cheyenne Keefer
Christina, I loved your powerpoint and your pictures, I think you give great information but maybe a little to much when It comes to these its best to make it short and sweet so people are more likely to read all of it but I loved it. I also like your picture and the AI picture you provided was really cool! -Adriana Seymour
