Jillian: Hi Anna! First off, I have to say WOW you moved from VA to CA? How long have you lived there and how is it there? I love your theme that you did for your author page and how easy it was to go through it! How do you like being a PreK teacher even after school PreK? I am currently a preschool teacher but always wanted to go spend a day with the PreK class to see how different it was. I completely understand with having to learn still about classroom management as that is one of the things I still need to learn how to manage without taking away time from lessons.

Hsin Tzu Mighall: Hi Anna! You moved from east coast to west coast and I just moved from LA to DC haha. I'm glad you had a wonderful time there. I love your skills and strength, they are so important especially strong organization and multitasking when facing lots of "energetic" kids. Attention to details is also important for being a teacher in order to make sure every kids are well caring in the school. I'm sure your experience so far in day care, after school, PreK teacher will be a big help for you being a professional teacher in the future. I can already imagine you become a wonderful teacher from "the teacher I will become", that's a great passage, I love it a lot.

Hi Anna. I really enjoyed reviewing your "About the Author Page". Your page was very welcoming, creative, and the pictures of you and your family were a great addition. I enjoyed reading about how you will inspire your students to set goals, discover their strengths, and celebrate their growth. I agree with you about wanting to learn new teaching strategies on how to handle classroom disruptions during classroom time. I think as teachers, if we are prepared each day, excited about teaching, and making the lesson plans that incorporates hands-on learning and movement, I think classroom disruptions would be at a minimal. ~Kimberly Greelish

Hi, Anna - Your page very clearly shows the care and enthusiasm you have for teaching! I'm happy for you and all the students you will have in the years to come that you've decided to pursue a career in education. Growing up, my father was an engineer and we moved every couple of years for his job. I often found myself befriending the children of service members who were like me in that we were always new to an area. I hope and expect that the move(s) you will make with your husband will continue to enrich you as a teacher, bringing refreshed perspectives and increased capacity for social insight and connection. Anna, first of all - thank you for being a military spouse. We thank our military but often forget to thank our military families as well - so to both of you Thank you! I am in complete agreement that Organized routine and classroom procedures along with clear expectations and consistency will create the best possible outcomes. Positive reinforcement is the best way to get the necessary results. As a TA in General Education at an elementary school, I have cafeteria duty and I can tell the difference in the type of classroom management by watching the classes at lunch. When I get pulled to sub in a class, it has been true every time. Teachers with clear expectations and set routines, behavior is never an issue. Not so much for the classrooms with no clear routines or expectations.

Hello Anna! I enjoyed reading about what you know and that you have babysat and worked at a daycare, as I have as well! I also love the colors you chose for your author page; it's very pretty. This was a great way to introduce yourself and also introduce who you are as a person. That's cool to know that you live in CA but are from VA I'm sure moving was one tough time, so it's impressive you went through that. How would you recommend PreK to others who may want to go into that profession?
