The Media College has an EXCELLENT set of tutorials on all aspects of Video Production!
1. Choose your Background
Try to find a Neutral background that will not detract from your subject. 60% Gray is ideal.
Depth of Field can "simplify" a noisy background to make it contextual, but not competitive.
2. Set your Lighting
3-Point Lighting:
a KEY Light is your main source
a FILL Light softens the shadows
a BACK Light creates a halo to "highlight"
3. Use a Tripod
Steady shots minimize the chance of blur
Steady video is preferable to "handheld"
Steady Pans, Tilts and Jib shots add value
4. Frame your shots deliberately
Use one of the standard 7 Shots:
ECU | CU | MCU | MS | MLS | LS | ELS
COMPOSE your frame with proven techniques
