To show off the design of your saucer, you should create a "BLUEPRINT" style graphic showing four specific views:
TOP
FRONT
ORTHO
LEFT
Note that the views are in logical, adjacent panels - the top is ABOVE the front, and the LEFT is to the RIGHT of the front
This represents the "glass box" to help represent a 3D object in a 2D image
Present a Smooth shaded view, but you can also include a Flat shaded or Wireframe view
MAXIMIZE your Anim8or window, and CHOOSE A QUAD VIEW with the specific views shown above. TOP - ORTHO - FRONT and LEFT in that precise order - Use the [F] key on your keyboard to ensure that all views fill the frame.
Be sure the MATERIALS panel isn't still on the screen
Use the [PRINT-SCREEN] button on your keyboard to take a screengrab of your computer
Open PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS and use FILE - NEW - IMAGE FROM CLIPBOARD to create a new canvas
Use the CROP tool to trim away the Anim8or tools and menus, leaving only the ship - BE SURE that the Crop tool isn't set to CUSTOM in the top left corner of it's options - it should have NO RESTRICTIONS
You can add TEXT to the bottom left corner to identify your name, project name and date
Use FILE - SAVE FOR WEB and save a JPG of your blueprint, and INSERT it onto an appropriate portfolio page
Your Blueprints and the AN8 file will be assessed on the following:
The model is designed exceptionally well with appropriate detail. The model includes skillful use of the lathe and extrude tools in Anim8or. Components were obviously designed to fit together perfectly.
SYMMETRY
The elements display mathematical perfection - achieving perfect symmetry within the 3D space. No objects appear distorted.
Materials have been carefully crafted to yield an outstanding level of realism - colour, specular, ambient, emissive, rough and brilliance values are clearly understood and effectively utilized
