ANIM8OR ONLINE MANUAL
We will be using the program ANIM8OR to complete our 3D Modelling unit. There are a few steps you must take to properly install the program on your computer. Once you have completed these steps, please follow the instructions on how to create your flying saucer.
Download ANIM8OR v100 and put it in the appropriate TIJ1O folder on your P: Drive.
Right-Mouseclick the ZIP file and EXTRACT ALL to your P: drive
Note - the tutorials are based on earlier versions of ANIM8OR, but they generally work the same way. New features of Anim8or 100 are
Tapping the ALT key toggles ARC-ROTATE mode
X-Y-Z can be toggled using the RIGHT mouse button
Point-Line-Face can be toggled with the RIGHT mouse button
If it's working for you, you can begin modelling.
If things don't seem to be working properly, you might want to double check the settings below:
Shown here are the best "default" settings for you to use this tutorial. Check your copy of Anim8or to see that the settings are turned on properly
Use the dropdown menu and locate
FILE | CONFIGURE UI
Toggle the settings as shown here; It's ESSENTIAL to activate the following:
SHOW GRID,
SHOW LABELS,
SHOW AXIS
Use the dropdown menu and locate OPTIONS
Be sure "Tool Tips" is on. This will display the name of whatever tool you're hovering over in the bottom left corner of the window
Use the dropdown menu and locate VIEW - PREFERENCES
IF you are creating ANIMATIONS, limiting the playback framerate can help. Match the settings shown here.
CHOOSE the correct Anim8or MODE from the control panel
Your panel must match the settings you see here:
OBJECT edit mode
ALL AXES (X Y and Z) enabled
SCREEN Coordinates is the default reference for rotation
