The following things should be considered when completing your Design Report:
It should be completed as a separate page on your Portfolio (It must be shared with me so that I can see)
You must have a photo of your bridge on this page.
You must present evidence of research - What did you discover about bridges before building?
You must have a photo of your drawings for your bridge design on your portfolio in the design report
Explain, Why did you choose this design? Did you amalgamate several design types? Why?
How successful was your bridge? To what do you attribute it's success or failure?
What were the factors that lead to the success or failure? Consider the method of joinery used, the height and width of your bridge, the type of bridge (e.g. arch, truss, beam...), the wood itself, the glue used, the span of the bridge, the bridge deck construction, the forces of compression or tension on certain members, and any other aspects you consider significant.
How did your bridge fail? What were the weakest parts?
Any other reflections on this experience? What did you learn?
