Oxford and Cambridge (‘Oxbridge’) are not only the UK’s most famous universities, but also two of its highest ranking. With ever more competitive admissions, it is crucial that you do your research before making an application.

Admission Tests
As part of your application, you will most likely be required to sit an admissions test. Depending on the course you have chosen to apply to, you will be required to sit an admissions test either before the interview takes place, or during the interview (should you be invited following a successful application). This varies between both universities and courses, and therefore it is important that you research this information well in advance.
Interviews
Successful applicants will be invited to an interview, which are likely to take place in December. Oxbridge interviews are designed to assess academic potential, and tutors are looking for self-motivation and enthusiasm for the subject. It is important to note that candidates who are being interviewed are not expected to be the ‘finished product’ or a particular 'type' of student. You are instead assessed on how you engage with material and come to reasoned judgements. The interviewer will be considering how you show your interest in the subject and that you have a desire to learn more.
The school offers interview practice, with a member of the Senior Leadership Team or Subject Leader, who has expert knowledge of the relevant subject matter. This is to ensure that you are fully prepared and know exactly what to expect from an Oxbridge interview.
