Sixth Form

In Sixth Form, you will be confident in your interest in humanities or languages, and possible career paths. A career in a Humanity subject is compatible with an interest in History, Geography, Politics, Sociology or RE. A career in a Language related career is compatible in an interest in French, Spanish - or any other language!

Should do

  • Use UCAS and Unifrog to research the different careers related to humanities and languages, and the different pathways into your chosen career.

  • Use UCAS and Unifrog to research the grades you need to study your chosen degree subject.

  • Regularly check the careers google classroom for any humanities or languages related opportunities, such as online university lectures or workshops.

Could do

  • Mentor younger students in your chosen humanity or language, as one of your Super Curricular activities - this will demonstrate your interest and enthusiasm to potential universities and employers. Speak to your teachers about this.

  • Join the Travel Green Team as one of your Super Curricular activities, especially if you have a keen interest in Geography.

  • Start a humanities or language club for your peers or younger students.

  • Undertake work experience in a humanities or language related field, to demonstrate your interest in these areas.

  • Attend lecture series in school related to humanities or languages.

  • Listen to a humanities related podcast such as The History Hour or GeogPod, or a language related podcast such as News in Slow Spanish or Coffee Break French.
