I encourage you to seek the guidance of your class teacher regarding areas of focus, as we don't feel it necessary for students of this age group to complete the whole revision booklet.
Please note that this revision will now replace homework. Therefore, no more homework will be getting uploaded to the VLE this term.

1. Reading - In this folder are reading comprehensions for the students to practice reading a text and answering questions. Answer sheets are also provided, so you can check your children's work.2. Writing - In this folder is a checklist with links to external websites, guiding students how to use these writing skills. You should encourage your children to practice drafting a nonsense poem using as many skills on the checklist as possible. There are also 2 nonsense poems written by myself and Mr Greaney in our classes, that can be used as examples. Please note your children should not copy these examples in their test, as any work that is not their own, will not count towards their grade.

Next week, students will be learning:
English – The children will be researching additional information about The Roman. Using this information children will be continuing to write an information text including paragraphs, captions and labelled diagrams in their work.
Mathematics – The children will be learning about Measurement this week. They will be reading scales to measure in grams, converting grams to kilograms, comparing weights in grams (g) and kilograms (kg), estimating and weighing objects to the nearest 100 g as well as solving word problems on mass.
Science – This week we will be continuing our topic on Light. We will be explaining why we have night and day, explaining how light travels using words such as dull, opaque, shiny, transparent and translucent.
History – The children will be researching and learning about Roman Chariots and Chariot Racing.
Geography – The children will be discovering the world map and locating where continents and countries are and name them.
Other information:ď‚· 24th Feb - Science Week

In preparation of exams starting week beginning 25th November, here is the revision booklet for year 3. This is an amalgamation of all of the homework this year with a few additional reading comprehensions, as requested.
It is important at this age your child is NOT rigorously revising for exams, but practicing skills they have learned with us throughout the term.
It is advised you also use active learn to support your child's learning. Refer to the primary curriculum overview below to see the criteria which could be included in the test.

NBA Term 1 Assessments will run from Sunday 25th November 2018 - Monday 3rd December 2018. The assessment timetable for your child's class can be found in the document to the right. Please ensure you have chosen the correct class colour as each classes assessment timetable varies due to Computer Science.
