Topic - The children will be learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. They will make a paper plate life cycle. They will also discuss the topc, 'How will I change as i grow up'.

Literacy - The children will be listening to the story of 'The Gingerbread Man'. They will be thinking of alternative endings to the story in small groups. Also they will be creating a story map to help them remember the different stages of the story in preparation for re-writing the story on Thursday.

Maths - The children will be learning about measurement in relation to baking. They will measure out ingredients and make a gingerbread man.

Topic - The children will be learning how to draw a map of the Gingerbread man's environment and discussing how it is different from where we live here in Qatar.

Maths - The children will be re-capping the concept of subtraction using concrete objects such as dinosaurs.

Topic - The children will be learning how to make salt dough. They will use dinosaur figures to create salt dough fossils. In addition to this, the children will be learning about what the world looked like when dinosaurs roamed and how it has changed from then until now.

This week has been very busy and exciting! The children learnt a lot and had a great day at Sports Day!

This week's learning has been so much fun! The children really enjoyed finding clues, writing missing posters and searching for the missing dog 'Rusty'. They also learned about patterns, how to programme Bee-bots and much much more!

The first week of the new term has been a busy and productive week. The children have started their new topic 'Space' and listened to the story 'Whatever Next'. They have learnt about positional language, sentence writing and even used bee-bots in class.

Term 1 has been lots of fun, with lots of fantastic learning taking place! Next term will start on Sunday 6th January! We hope you have a wonderful winter break!

This week was Arabic Week and the children took part in so many fun arabic activities. Learning also continued in class with lots of phonics, sentence writing and measurement skills in maths.

Literacy - This week is BOOK WEEK! The book for the week is ‘Sharing a Shell’ by Julia Donaldson. The children will take part in many activities throughout the week to encourage a love of reading.

Phonics - Tricky words: be, was

Maths - The children will be learning to find one more than a given number.

Topic - Our topic continues to be ‘Under the Sea’ and the focus this week will be on adding different textures to their art work.

In Arabic this week the children have been learning the 'da' sound. They made a bear (dub).

In Literacy, the children followed sets of instructions and decorated 'Tiddler' the fish. They also wrote describing words about him.

In Phonics, the children played a new exciting game called 'Cookie Jar'.

In Mathematics, everybody practiced ordering numbers from 0-10 and beyond by pegging small numbered fish on washing line.

Finally, our Ocean Clean Up day was a huge success. Thank you so much to all the parent helpers. The children had a lot of fun and learnt alot about our oceans and how to save them!
