Dear parents,
This term, the children will become familiar with the colours and animals in French. There will also learn how to express an opinion using "I like" and "I don't like". As you know, this is a very short term. Please use the resources provided in this page to practise the vocabulary on a regular basis.
Homework is important and affects your child's performance as well as his/her effort grade in the report card. Please ensure homework is completed and handed to me during the French lesson.
Check this page weekly regularly for important updates, resources and homework.
Merci et bon trimestre.
Revision tips:
You can use the resources below to practise the new vocabulary with your child. The worksheets found in this section are NOT part of the homework.
Read the lyrics of this French song. Can you spot the colours? Circle each colour with the correct colour. e.g. Circle the word 'bleu' in blue.
Linguascope is an interactive website where you can learn the vocabulary and play games to test your knowledge.
It is also a great way to learn how the words sound.
The username and password have been added to the revision booklet.
Youtube is a great tool to learn a new language. Alexa's videos are a great way to practise new vocabulary and develop your child's listening and speaking skills. Zakaria and Ratounet are also adapted to Year 3. You can also look for songs and short stories in French.
Challenge your friends or siblings to say all the main colours in French faster than you!
Story time!
This is the story of 'The Wolf Who Wanted to Change Colour' (Le loup qui voulait changer de couleur). Find out which colour he wants to be on each day of the week.
