I am Simon Berry, the new Deputy Principal and Secondary Head Teacher at NBA, Barwa. The school year has got off to a great start. Many of the students are wearing the new Newton Group uniform and as well as returning students, we welcome new ones in all Secondary year groups.
Having recently worked as a Principal in Vietnam, I am happy to be back working in the Middle East. Along with the new Principal and Head of Primary, I am excited about the year ahead and all of the great work that is going to be done for your child's academic and personal success.

All year 11 and 12 students who have paid the exam entry fee for IGCSE or AS level Cambridge International syllabuses are given their 'Statement of Entry' today. If any of the concerned student has not received the Statement of Entry then it should be collected from their form tutor at the earliest.
The information given on the Statement of entry like spelling of name, date of birth, Subject and tier should be checked and verified. Please make sure that it is correct and complete.
If there is any mistake, please contact me immediately so that I can make the necessary correction through the online portal. Late fee will be levied by the examination board if any correction is made after 21 February. Therefore please check the statement of entry carefully and please get back to me immediately if there are any mistakes. Thank you.

Secondary Sports Day 2019
Sports day will be held at school and at Qatar sports club on Sunday 10th of February. The Girls will start at school and then make their way to Qatar Sports Club and the boys will do the reverse. All students can dress in the color of their class.
This year the competition will be an interclass competition with each class been able to sign up to events as stated below. Points will be awarded to players and teams for their placement in the sports and events.
Parents who would like can join the event at Qatar Sports Club.

Year 9 IGCSE Options Evening - Tuesday 19th February 4:00pm
We have started the Options process with Year 9 pupils. In all assemblies starting on Tuesday 15th January pupils will be told by Heads of Departments about the different subjects we will offer in Years 10 and 11 and about the Options process. During the Options Evening we will talk to parents about the Options process and IGCSE qualifications. More information will follow including the Year 10 Options Booklet and Choice Forms.

We will be creating opportunities for pupils in Year 11 to participate in Year 12 Taster lessons after their Mock Exams. More information will follow including the Year 12 Options Booklet and Choice Forms.

We would like to inform you that our school will celebrate the Qatari National Day this coming Wednesday, 12th December 2018.
The Secondary section of the school will be holding their event starting at 12:15 P.M.
This will include, for those who choose, free henna painting for ladies.
Students are invited to wear the Qatari National dress or the Qatari flag color.
