Welcome to the Year 3 Blue class page.

Starting in Term Three, this is where you will find information about class updates, letters, documents etc. I will be using Class Dojo for private messaging only and not class updates and documents.

Please note changes for the assessment dates. They are as follows:

11th June: Science

Reading- Active Learn

Please note that I have allocated a lot of books to each pupil's account on Active Learn. It is important that your child is reading regularly at home, and practising their reading skills to prepare for end of term assessments.

I have also included one on World War 2 to research for their writing assessment.

Ramadan

Please note that during Ramadan, we are still teaching lessons. Attendance, and punctuality, is important in the lead-up to the end of year exams. Thus far, class teachers have not had the dates for these exams. I will inform you when I have received them. Thank you.

Assessments

Dear parents,

This term we are assessing geography and history via research projects to be completed at home.

For Geography, the task will be to produce a 5 chapter information booklet (1 chapter per week) about rainforests. Each week a question/title of the chapter will be released and it is the students’ job to use the internet to research information and produce a short, concise chapter, including pictures. You will be able to find the question/title of the chapter on the VLE CLASS PAGE, each Thursday. Submission will be at the end of term on the following date; not each week.

Deadline for submission: Wednesday 29^th May

For History, the task will be to produce a powerpoint presentation about WWII. Each week a question/title of the chapter will be released and it is the students’ job to use the internet to research information and produce one or two concise slides, including pictures. You will be able to find the question/title of the chapter on the VLE CLASS PAGE, each Thursday. Submission will be at the end of term on the following date; not each week.

NBA is looking for parents who can consistently give an hour of there time every week to read with children on a one to one basis. The aim is to promote links between NBA and parents and develop children's fluency and understanding of what they are reading.
