Sarine Weingarten participated in tennis, basketball, and volleyball at Red River, earning 10 varsity letters. Sarine was the State Tennis Singles Champion from 1993-1996, EDC Singles Champion from 1992-1996, and was named All-Conference and All-State from 1992-1996. Sarine also was named Miss Tennis of North Dakota in 1996, NDAPSSA Special Achievement Award winner, NDAPSSA Female Athlete of the Year, Grand Forks Herald Female Athlete of the Year, and a Wendy’s High School Heisman National Nominee. In basketball, Sarine was named a team captain, All-State Tournament Team member, and All-Conference twice. Sarine received a full ride to play tennis at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she lettered all four years playing in top singles and doubles positions. She was also named team captain, and to the All-Conference team three years.
