As a 1993 graduate of Red River High School, Jill Pollard was a standout three-sport athlete, earning an impressive 12 varsity letters in volleyball (3), basketball (3), and tennis (6). In volleyball, Jill earned All-Region and All-State honors and was instrumental in leading the Roughriders to back-to-back state championships in 1992 and 1993, including an undefeated season in 1992. On the basketball court, she earned All-Conference honors in 1992 and helped guide Red River to a State Runner-Up finish in 1993. Jill’s tennis career was exceptional. Competing at the varsity level from 7th through 12th grade, she helped her team to third-place state finishes in 1988 and 1989, earned All-State honors, and served as team captain in 1992 and 1993. She placed third in singles and helped lead Red River to back-to-back state championships in 1992 and 1993. In 1993, she was named a Prince High School All-American Honorable Mention. After graduation, Jill continued her athletic career at the University of Minnesota Morris, competing in tennis, volleyball, and basketball. She was a four-year letterwinner in tennis, earning Team MVP and All-District honors in 1993 and 1994. In volleyball, she was named Team MVP in 1996 and 1997, and also played basketball in 1993. In 1997, Jill was honored with the Willis Kelly Outstanding Female Athlete Award—the university’s highest athletic honor for women—recognizing her excellence across all sports.
