As a 1998 graduate of Red River High School, was a two-sport standout who left a lasting legacy in both gymnastics and track and field. In gymnastics, Becki competed from 1994 to 1998 and was recognized early in her career with the Hardest Worker Award in both the 1993–94 and 199495 seasons. She contributed to team success as well, helping Red River to a 1st place regional finish in 1995 and an EDC title in 1996. On the track, Becki was a dynamic athlete for the Roughriders from 1994 to 1998. Across four state meets, she was a six-time state placer in the high jump, triple jump, and 100 meters. In 1996, she won the state high jump title and set a school record in the triple jump at 37' 1½", a record that stood for 19 years. She was also a two-time state runner-up in the triple jump, a two-time East Region Champion in the high jump, and a consistent point scorer in the sprints and jumps. Her senior year culminated in the 1998 Girls Track & Field State Team Championship, a crowning achievement for the program. Her all-around excellence was recognized in 1996 and 1997 when she was named Red River’s Sophomore and Junior Female Athlete of the Year. Becki continued her track and field career at North Dakota State University, earning multiple All-Conference, All-American, and All-Academic honors. She set a school record in the pole vault as a freshman in 1999, placed at several NCC Championships, and twice finished 7th at the NCAA Division II Indoor Nationals to earn All-American recognition. She capped her career with a 2nd place high jump finish at the 2001 NCC Outdoor meet and a top 10 finish at the NCAA Outdoor Nationals.
