My favorite thing in this art piece is the sun. I love the sun so much and I feel like it’s a big part of the artwork. I felt inspired by the things that I like, including raccoons cute birds, the sun, puffy clouds, and I love campfires. I would change the plan I had at the start. I would plan it out before I start making random things! I learned that you can use colors to really make things stand out more like the sun. I used two colors to make a mixture of both yellow and orange. I think that when I was drawing the clouds and I added some color it surprised me that it would turn out better than just white clouds. For this I used colored pencils, pens, and a simple pencil. I mixed a lot of the colors to make in better and I thought that It was pretty cool. Overall I think I did pretty well with this piece.
I chose monochromatic, using one color which was green. I used many different shades of green. The feeling is most likely chill and calm. I did not really have a message and I just like the color green. I think I did well painting the frog. If I could start over I would most likely focus more on the frog.
I think my color did not work out and looked way better without it. I tried adding color but it just did not work out. I loved the praying mantis a lot because I worked really hard on it. My least favorite thing was adding the color instead of having it black and white. My inspiration was just the thought of the mantis. I think they are really cool creatures and they are fun to draw. If I was creating it again I would have it black and white even though it was a colorful project. I think it made it worse to add color so next time I won’t. I learned a lot about oil pastel and colors. They can be messy, and getting the right colors can be hard. I think it surprised me how sometimes things you draw are meant to be black and white. In this I first drew the praying mantis on the branches. Then I added some color and details.
For my confidence project I made a book with a person walking across the page. I put a book because reading is something that makes me confident. I love how books can mean different things and I love reading about the characters and I love harsh books. I painted a person walking from darkness into the light because I thought it would make confidence.
