Hello and welcome to my 6th grade TPOL. My name is stella. First I'm going to tell you a bit about myself.Outside of school, I enjoy things like paddle boarding, kayaking, camping, going to lake night horse, hanging out with friends, hanging out with family friends, skiing, swimming, climbing rocks in deserts, and more.
The 6th grade lens is Confidence. At the beginning of the year, Confidence meant being able to do something well without having to think too much about it. At the beginning of the year, I demonstrated this lens by trying my hardest to get really good at a subject, or thinking that I should be confident in every subject even though that was not realistic.
By the end of the year, I realized that it was not realistic to think I can be confident and perfect in everything, instead I realized that instead of being confident and perfect I should focus more on what I don't understand. Take smaller steps while getting good grades. I realized confidence is not a synonym for perfect, it’s anything but that. Confidence is being able to have joy in something, understanding it but not being perfect at it. I am confident in skiing, but I'm far from perfect. Overall, confidence as a grade level lens means a lot, especially in the sixth grade year. The highlight of what I learned from my lens not being perfect.
