Applying to UMN Morris

Applying to the UMN Morris PSEO program is not the same as applying to the UMN Morris for undergraduate admission.

As a PSEO student, you are not formally admitted to UMN Morris as a degree-seeking student; you are considered a non-degree seeking student.

If you want to attend UMN Morris after graduation from high school, you will need to apply for undergraduate admission as a degree-seeking student. Call the UMN Morris Admissions office at 320-589-6035 or visit admissions.morris.umn.edu to access application materials and deadline information.

When you apply for admission, you will be asked whether you are applying as a transfer student or a freshman. Apply as a freshman and then include information that you participated in the UMN Morris PSEO program as a PSEO student.

After Your PSEO Participation is Complete

If you have been admitted to the University of Minnesota as a new degree-seeking student after high school graduation, you may be required to attend welcome week even if you were a PSEO student.

Continuing UMN Morris students receive a registration time, a specified time in the registration system when they are allowed to register.  Once your registration time arrives, and if there are no registration holds on your record, you will be able to self-register for courses using the online registration system. See Registration and Registration Rules.

Because PSEO students usually have a PSEO hold on their record preventing them from self-registering, you may need to contact the PSEO Adviser before your registration date so that your hold can be removed. Adviser approval is required for registration for students with fewer than 90 credits.

Students Deferring Admission or Taking a Gap Year

If you plan to defer your admission for a semester or a year (or more), taking courses after graduating high school (including May and summer terms) may revoke your offer of admission and any first year student scholarships and force you to reapply as a transfer student.

U Card

If you receive a U Card as a PSEO student and then apply and are accepted to any University of Minnesota campus, you have the same student ID number, student internet ID and will use the same U Card. You are only eligible for a free U Card every 5 years.
