Definitions
Degree-seeking student: a student admitted to UMN Morris to complete a bachelor's degree.
Non-degree seeking student: a student enrolled in a class or classes, but not admitted to a degree program. PSEO students are non-degree seeking students; they are not admitted to a degree program.
General education (GenEd) requirements: a set of requirements that all UMN Morris degree-seeking students must complete, regardless of their major.
Academic Progress Audit System (APAS): a report that lists your degree requirements, summarizes your progress and explains what you need to do to complete your declared degree program.
Major: a set of coursework designed to grant mastery of a specific subject. All degree-seeking students at UMN Morris must complete a major to earn a degree.
Minor: a set of coursework designed to give moderate experience in a subject. Curriculum is often a scaled-down version of major coursework. Completing a minor is optional.
Academic School Year: For PSEO purposes, an academic school year is defined as two University semesters or three University quarters within a school year beginning on or after July 1 and ending no later than June 30.
